Passport fees increase by $20 (Fox 29 Philadelphia)
      As of December 27th, the fees for U.S. passport processing have increased by $20.  In a recent tweet from the State Department, the agency said that the increase “is necessary to ensure we continue to produce one of the most secure travel and identity documents in the world.”

Lawmakers call for domestic travel restrictions (NBC Bay Area)

     In a letter to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Federal Aviation Administration last week, Democratic lawmakers called for the requirement of either a negative Covid-19 test or proof of vaccination for domestic travel.  The letter points out that while both a negative test and proof of vaccination is required for international travelers, domestic travelers do not even have to present a negative test.  Proof of vaccination or a negative Covid-19 test is also currently required for all domestic travelers entering Hawaii.  The senators argue that the requirements are essential to ensure the health and safety of air travelers.
    U.S. Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg however, says he is confident in the safety of air travel and suggested in a recent interview that current measures in place, such as mask requirements, and vaccine mandates for those who work in the travel industry, are enough to keep the traveling public safe.
