CDC Will Now Accept At-Home COVID-19 Tests

As of January 12, 2021, the CDC has mandated that all international travelers, including U.S. citizens, entering the U.S. provide a negative COVID-19 test or proof of recovery from the virus in order to enter the country.  According to a recent announcement from the CDC, at-home test kits will now be accepted for entry.
Tests must be either nucleic acid amplification (NAAT) or antigen, and must be remotely supervised in real-time by a telehealth provider.

Cruise Line Threatens to Skip Florida Ports

After enacting legislation that prevents businesses from requiring proof of vaccination in exchange for services, the State of Florida is now facing threats from Norwegian Cruise Line, to skip their ports.  The Florida-based cruise line plans to require all crew members and passengers be vaccinated.
Florida provides an enormous amount of opportunity for U.S. cruises.  In 2019, 60% of all U.S. cruises embarked from Florida ports, including Tampa, Miami and Key West.  Moving cruise operations elsewhere could have a large impact on the state’s economy.

Is Your Passport Valid?

If you plan to travel internationally in 2021, now is a great time to check your passport validity!

As a general rule, passports should be valid for at least 6 months after the intended date of travel, but these rules may also vary depending on your destination.

The current normal processing time for passports is 10-12 weeks, so there is no time like now to get started on your renewal.
