Travel Advisories Downgraded for More than 100 Destinations


This week, the CDC and the State Department both downgraded travel advisories for more than 100 countries.  These changes include 33 countries being moved into the lowest risk category.  This is the first update to travel advisories since April 28th of this year.  The CDC still recommends both domestic and international travelers get vaccinated before traveling.
 

Travel Pass to go Live in Weeks

The International Air Transport Association (IATA) says their digital travel pass will go live in the coming weeks.  The app, which is currently in a trial period and available by invitation only, was originally designed to aid in passenger screening at the airport but will now provide assistance for immigration screening as well.

The airline has announced a commercial agreement with a Denver-based aerospace company, adding supersonic speeds to their fleet.

Emirates Launches Miami to Dubai Service

 

Beginning July 22, the airline will launch four-times weekly service between Miami and Dubai, expanding its U.S. network to 12 destinations.

American Reopens Flagship Lounges

American Airlines’ premium Flagship Lounges will begin reopening in September.  The first location on the list will be Miami, followed by four others later in Fall 2021.

Hawaii Plans to Lift Restrictions

The state of Hawaii will lift restrictions on inter-county travel beginning June 15th, and will end its Safe Travel Program, once the state reaches a vaccination rate of 70%.

Is Your Passport Valid?

 

If you plan to travel internationally in 2021, now is a great time to check your passport validity!  

As a general rule, passports should be valid for at least 6 months after the intended date of travel, but these rules may also vary depending on your destination.  

The current normal processing time for passports is 10-12 weeks, so there is no time like now to get started on your renewal.
