    New York’s LaGuardia Airport is getting another gorgeous new building: Delta is set to open the doors to its Terminal C facility on Saturday, June 4. The modern, $4 billion structure houses a slick check-in lobby, 11 TSA security lanes, and five baggage claim carousels, as well as a new concourse with 10 gates. It’s the latest space to debut in the sweeping construction overhaul of LaGuardia, which will see practically every passenger building torn down and rebuilt from scratch by 2024.

    Premium fliers are getting a whole new way to fly to Australia. On Monday, Australian airline Qantas unveiled designs for new first-class suites on board planes that will fly nonstop from New York to Australia. The suites—which are set to roll out across the airline’s 12 Airbus A350-1000 planes that will be delivered in 2025—will be among the most spacious in the airline industry. Each of the six first-class suites will feature a privacy door, reclining lounge chair, separate lie-flat bed, individual wardrobe for each passenger, and a 32-inch entertainment screen.

    Many airline passengers equate summer travel with snaking lines at airport security. But this year, TSA is adding new technology to speed along even the most congested checkpoints. One such piece of equipment, called a credential authentication technology (CAT) scanner, is programmed to automatically match traveler's ID information to flight manifests. In short: Travelers at dozens of U.S. airports no longer need to show their boarding passes to TSA officers, eliminating one more item that fliers need to scramble for in order to get through security.
